Hey there, Bullets Fans –

Your Morning Bullets Brief Updates are here! And that means trivia is, too.

On this day, in 1962, the Dow plummeted, culminating in a very bad day for the market… In fact, Wall Street hadn’t suffered so much since 1929.

Any idea what caused the massive tumble?

Think you know the answer? You can check it in the closing area down below!

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen speaks at a press conference

Yesterday the secretary of the Treasury demanded more money from congressional leaders, suggesting that she is working with a budget that is more than ten years old.

She nodded to the Treasury-backed programs that have been responsible for keeping the economy afloat as it faced the pandemic, and added that she wanted more aggressive policies going forward.

“Our team has done valiant work implementing these programs with the resources at our disposal,” she said to lawmakers. “But we cannot continue to be good stewards of this recovery—and tackle the new bodies of work that Congress assigns to us in the years beyond—with a budget that was designed for 2010.”

What else did she have to say ahead of President Joe Biden’s unveiling of his first $6 trillion budget?

The truth about “Insider” trading (99% don’t know this)…

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the words “insider trading”?

Most people think of Martha Stewart being hauled off in handcuffs.

But here’s the truth most people don’t know…

Technically, insider trading is illegal.

But 9 times out of 10, the people you see arrested are hedge fund managers and traders — NOT company insiders.

That’s because insiders are actually protected by a little-known SEC loophole.

It’s called the 10b5-1 Rule…

And it states that as long as the insider has a written plan for when he will buy and sell his company’s stock, he is immune from insider trading violations.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot stands behind a podium

After Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot denied white reporter Thomas Catenacci an interview, the Daily Caller News Foundation filed a lawsuit alongside Judicial Watch.

At the beginning of May, Lightfoot said that she would talk one-on-one with “black or brown journalists” exclusively, and has not spoken to any white reporters since that time.

“It’s absurd that an elected official believes she can discriminate on the basis of race,” said Ethan Barton, who is the DCNF editor-in-chief. “Mayor Lightfoot’s decision is clearly blocking press freedom through racial discrimination.”

The president of Judicial Watch echoed that sentiment, adding: “Racial discrimination has no place in America, especially in the halls of government. Mayor Lightfoot’s admitted policy of race-based discrimination is flagrantly illegal and immoral. Simply put, we’re asking the court to find Mayor Lightfoot’s racist abuse unlawful.”

What does the lawsuit itself say?
