INVESTOR INSIGHTS – Is the market setting up for another rally? 

As I said yesterday, S&P continues to chop back and forth.

And I don’t see any heavy selling pressure.

I still think we could drift lower over the next few days.

But, it is starting to look we might be setting up for another rally.

Will we see new all-time highs?

I’m not sure. It’s too early to tell.

Google dumped 6 of its largest lobbyist firms.

 

It comes as Google faces greater government scrutiny.

 

Do you know how much Google spends on lobbyists?

$21.74 million in 2018…

 

And they had 100 lobbyists and employed nearly 30 firms…

 

According to lobbying filings, Google is the largest spender on lobbying among U.S. corporations…

 

Will it be enough to get them out of the government spotlight?

TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME

Rep. Ilhan Omar (Democrat) ignores requests for tax returns…

She committed several campaign finance violations.

The violations were using campaign funds for personal matters.

But that’s not all.

The Associated Press has confirmed she filed a joint tax return with one man while being legally married to another…

Hmmm… there is a lot going on here…

But about month ago, she had no issues with asking for President Trump’s tax returns: 

 

It’s not fun when the spotlight is on you. Is it?

TRUMP IS WINNING

Import prices are falling.

Take a look…  

 

 

What does that mean?

The prices of imported goods fell in May even as tariffs on China increased.

 

Let’s dig deeper.

 

Prices of imported Chinese products are down 0.1 percent in May. And they are down 1.4 percent from a year ago.

 

Another interesting point:

 

Imports from Asian countries outside of China also fell in price…

 

That means companies who shifted production out of China are not paying higher prices.

 

And if it’s true, it could undermine the assumptions behind claims that tariffs would drive up prices for U.S. consumers…

 

If one country (China) has tariffs and other countries don’t, it does seem obvious China would become less competitive.

 

I asked around and heard from people who run companies heavily relied upon imports from China.

 

Are they worried?

 

Not at all… many of them went to China and told them to “eat” the tariff increase or they’ll move their production elsewhere.

 

The answer was obvious… Chinese agreed…
