Democrat anxiety is high.
Donations are offered (and rejected) with refund clauses if Warren wins the nomination.
According to a Democratic official, “Ninety to 95 percent of our donor base is terrified about Warren.”
And Warren isn’t their only fear.
The big fear is that the large and divided field of candidates doesn’t have what it takes to beat Trump in 2020.
It’s kind of like a Goldilocks moment.
Biden is too old.
Buttigieg is too young.
Warren and Sanders are too left.
No one is “just right.”
So, new candidates are considering entering the race.
Making the whole mess even more confusing.
It even got Barack Obama to enter the conversation.
While trying to calm donors down, he had a warning for progressives.
The country is “less revolutionary than it is interested in improvement.”
It’s left some on the left wondering which is scarier?
Warren or Sanders losing to Trump?
Or beating him and raising their taxes?
There is a clear winner in all of the fear and infighting, and that’s Trump.
