How did these passengers survive a dramatic hot-air balloon crash in England?

Officials yesterday released a report about how four passengers in a hot-air balloon survived a dramatic crash that ultimately killed the pilot.

The 72-year-old pilot, Brian Boland, was gliding over the Connecticut River for nearly an hour before the trouble began. He apparently could not relight the burner before the aircraft fell and hit the Earth in Vermont.

He and a passenger were then thrown overboard.
