Why is this representative submitting articles of impeachment against the president?

We might be grumbling that it took long enough, but a lawmaker says she is ready to file her articles of impeachment against the current president.

“I believe in firing people when they’re corrupt, and they do a bad job,” she said earlier this week. “And Joe Biden is failing America and he needs to be impeached.”

Her announcement comes amid the worsening crisis in Afghanistan, and the continued chaos at the southern border — situations that were both engineered by ol’ Biden.

But apparently, Greene had been ready to impeach him from the start.

“President Joe Biden is unfit to hold the office of the presidency,” she’d said shortly after his inauguration. “His pattern of abuse of power as President (Barack) Obama’s vice president has demonstrated that he will do whatever it takes to bail out his son, Hunter, and line his family’s pockets with cash from corrupt foreign energy companies.”

Did the Taliban just kill a journalist’s relative in a door-to-door manhunt?

According to officials, the Taliban is in the midst of a manhunt in Kabul, searching for journalists or others with ties to Afghanistan’s previous government. Apparently, this led to the killing of a reporter’s family member. The militant group had previously promised not to engage in such behavior.

Officials with Deutsche Welle, a broadcaster in Germany, said that some of their other reporters have also had their homes raided since the takeover.

“We expect both individuals previously working with NATO and U.S. forces and their allies, alongside with their family members to be exposed to torture and executions,” said Chrisitan Nellemann, who is the RHIPTO Norwegian Center for Global Analyses chief.

This comes as reports surface that the State Department is demanding hefty, $2,000 payments for Americans to make the flight back home.

Let’s talk inflation…

If you’ve been reading this newsletter for any significant amount of time, you know that red-hot inflation has been a key focal point for investors, and for central bankers.

When the latest consumer price index was released earlier this month it indicated the highest growth in more than a decade. And the producer price index also set a new record increase.

But what does all of that mean, exactly? Financial expert Tim Melvin breaks it all down in a new interview, and it is definitely worth the watch.

Frank Reeves woke with a start last weekend as his wife said that someone was breaking into the house.

Reeves grabbed a weapon and ended up in a shootout with the suspect, a man he later learned had been romantically involved with his spouse, Tracy. Not only that, but Tracy had been doing drugs with this man, Michael Amacker, and she’d been allowing him to stay in the couple’s Alabama home.

“I’ve still yet to figure out how somebody can be staying in your house and you not know it,” officials said. “It’s somewhat bizarre.”

Apparently, Tracy Reeves and Amacker had been on meth as the situation unfolded, and officials are investigating whether a murder-for-hire scheme may have been at play.

“Another thing with meth,” the official said. “people that are on meth, not only do they have paranoia, they can’t keep their mouth shut. So if there was some kind of diabolical plan, it is very possible Amacker has told some other people.”

What will Biden say when he breaks his silence on the Afghanistan evacuation?

In about an hour, Biden is finally going to break his silence on the evacuation efforts currently underway in Afghanistan.

So far, the so-called leader of our country has remained relatively quiet regarding the Taliban’s swift return to power in Afghanistan. He hasn’t said much about how, exactly, the US will evacuate the thousands of Americans who are now trapped in the country. Biden spoke to the matter very briefly on Monday, and he did take questions from ABC News in an interview later in the week, but the details have been sparse.

So, if he isn’t addressing the current crisis, what has he been doing? It appears he’s been in vacation mode, prioritizing his time in Wilmington and Camp David, instead of leading the country he is being paid to protect.

In total, Biden will have spent less than 72 hours in the White House this week, as the situation in Afghanistan worsens.

After his scheduled remarks, he’ll return home to Delaware.

Is he even going to take questions, today? What should you expect?

What happens when one naked Seattle man stabs another naked man?

Earlier this week, two naked Seattle men apparently got into an altercation that left one of them in the hospital and the other one unresponsive, police say.

According to witnesses, one of the men stabbed the other while they were on the sidewalk.

When authorities responded to the scene, the victim had been transported to a nearby hospital by a bystander.

The alleged suspect was found slumped near an apartment building with a neck wound that officials believe was self-inflicted.

He had lost a great deal of blood by the time authorities arrived.

Three students were hurt in this high school parking lot shooting

What South Carolina officials had originally dubbed a drive-by shooting was no such thing. On Wednesday, a 14-year-old fired at three high school students in the back parking lot. The victims each sustained non-life-threatening wounds, authorities say.

The violence broke out on Wednesday, after the third day of classes at the high school.

Officials said teachers, who had been trained on how to handle active shooters, were able to contain the situation.

“We plan for these things, hoping we never have to use them,” the school superintendent said.

The sheriff added: “Because of their quick actions and different things they did out there at the school today, I believe that [they] saved lives and [kept] other students [from] being injured.”

Pentagon chief: U.S. forces can’t help Americans flee to the airport

Yesterday, the Pentagon chief said that the US military cannot transport Americans to the Kabul airport in Afghanistan amid the Taliban takeover.

“I don’t have the capability to go out and extend operations currently into Kabul,” said Lloyd Austin, the defense secretary. “And where do you take that? How far can you extend into Kabul and how long does it take to flow those forces in to be able to do that?”

So Americans living in the country are forced to pray that the Taliban upholds their end of an agreement with the US in order to reach the airport.

“[We are] going to evacuate everybody that we can physically and possibly evacuate and we’ll conduct this process for as long as we possibly can,” he said.

Much like the story above, this offers no reassurance.

How long did Biden just say that American troops will stay in Afghanistan?

In an interview yesterday, Biden said that American troops would stay in Afghanistan beyond the August 31 deadline if that move is necessary in order to ensure Americans are able to evacuate.

Right now there are between 10,000 and 15,000 Americans scrambling to leave the country that was overtaken by the Taliban. Additionally, there are more than 50,000 Afghans who want to escape

“The commitment holds to get everyone out that, in fact, we can get out and everyone who should come out. And that’s the objective. That’s what we’re doing now. That’s the path we’re on. And I think we’ll get there,” he said.

He continued: “It depends on where we are and whether we can get… ramp these numbers up to [5,0000 to] 7,000 a day coming out. If that’s the case, they’ll all be out.”

Biden’s guesswork is not even slightly reassuring right now. At last count, an estimated 2,000 people were able to evacuate within a 24-hour period.
