Well, this is a story that impacts both of my major reader categories: politics and the financial markets. 

As we’ve long suspected, “The Big Three” in media are censoring our news. And in these particular instances, they’ve been censoring some pretty good news – about the economy.

Maybe that’s because President Trump is totally owning this market recovery – against the steepest odds a President has faced since the Great Depression?

Or maybe it’s because the Democrats want to paint a darker picture so they can sell lies to their base a little easier?

My favorite part? Where she pretended like she didn’t know the law.

My second favorite part? That it was just a wash and blow dry, which she could have EASILY done at home like everyone else is expected to.

We’ve all heard about those infamous October Surprises.

But should we be getting ready for a September surprise?

While the rest of the world has Halloween in late October, for Congress, it happens in late September.

“That’s because Sept. 30 is the annual deadline to fund the federal government. It’s the end of the government’s fiscal year. And, the calendar always raises the specter of a possible government shutdown.

The House approved 10 of the 12 annual spending bills. It’s doubtful those measures could ever become law. The Senate hasn’t approved any bills.”

And as we’ve recently seen, Congress can’t seem to agree about anything.

Are we about to see a big shutdown battle ahead of the election or will our representatives at least be able to agree on a stopgap measure?

“Today, we don’t recognize the Democratic Party,” the letter declared. “It has been moved so far to the left it can no longer claim to be advocates of the working class. The hard-working Minnesotans that built their lives and supported their families here on the Range have been abandoned by radical Democrats.”

“We didn’t choose to leave the Democratic Party, the party left us,” the mayors added. “Yet, four years ago, something wonderful happened. Donald J. Trump was elected President of the United States, and he stood up to China, implemented tax cuts and fought for the working class.”

If you missed last night’s opening evening of the Republican National Convention, you missed out on some great stuff.

So, the first thing you need to know – this absolutely WASN’T the DNC snooze fest. It was fresh, it was optimistic, it showed a clear vision and the speakers did an incredible job of appealing to both Independents and Democrats.

(You totally need to check out the second headline in the “More Election Headlines” to see what we’re talking about – it wasn’t just good to listen to, it was effective as hell!)

So, if you missed it last night, you absolutely need to tune into night – it’ll be worth every minute.

But what about those individual moments and highlights?

I know I had a few personal favorites – “Woketopia,” “Mental Plantations” and Donald Trump Jr. painting Biden as the ultimate Loch Ness Monster of the Swamp that pops up his head every few years to run for office.

More Election Headlines…

This Is The Best Way To Play The Coming Change

The fire that you see raging above isn’t in a third world country. And it wasn’t an accident. It’s the result of continued violent protests and riots that are raging in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The protests stem from the shooting of Jacob Blake following calls to the police over a domestic disturbance. Details are emerging that this wasn’t by any means a “peaceful” arrest, and that tasers had already been employed. When Jacob continued to resist arrest and attempted to reach into his car, he was repeatedly shot – in the back.

His father has reported this morning that he will be paralyzed, but he did survive the event which is prompting riots, protests and investigations.

And in the meantime, radicals have literally taken over the town of Kenosha and it is rapidly burning to the ground.

What the media may not be mentioning is that the houses and building and churches that are being razed aren’t those owned by “White Americans.”

instead, this is an African American community being further victimized in demonstrations, violence and destruction from the same mob saying that Black Lives Matter.

Now, I’m not saying we don’t need to dig deeper into this investigation, and if the police involved were in the wrong, they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

But so should the people who are destroying the homes and livelihoods of innocent Black American bystanders!

Well, traders, we’re in for a busy week this week.

Overnight and in the early pre-market hours this morning, stock indexes are showing every signal that they’ll continue their record breaking rise today.

All of the major indexes are up by 0.85-1% this morning.

Apple shares have been going insane since the markets closed on Friday. The stock gained more than 8% last week.

Apple’s 4-for-1 stock split will be distributed to shareholders of record at Monday’s close. But trading on a split-adjusted basis won’t begin until next Monday.

Today is also Day 1 of the virtual Republican National Convention.

“It’s a sense of unease that everybody has,” says Kristin Cook, senior editor at retail deal site Ben’s Bargains, which saw a spike in demand for pepper spray and solar-powered chargers at the start of August. “For a while there it felt like everyone sort of decided we were over [the pandemic], but we’re seeing the anxiety-type purchases ticking up, as people realize this is will be more of a long haul.”
