And NBC News totally cut away from Biden as he took questions

Not only did Biden dig his heels in yesterday regarding his response to the U.S. withdrawal and Taliban takeover in Afghanistan, but the media appeared to make every effort to protect him from poor coverage.

Not that any of our readers would have been tuned into NBC News, but if you had, you would have noticed that the presser was cut off just as Biden began taking reporter questions.

If you’d been watching the NBC News Special Report, you would have heard an AP journalist ask, “Mr. President: we’re nine days away from the August 31 deadline. Will you extend that deadline, or what is your thought process on extending the evacuation operation?”

But you wouldn’t have heard Biden’s answer.

Because they cut away from the conference, further fueling the belief that 63% of Americans now hold… that the liberal corporate media does whatever it can to paint the president in a favorable light.

And even his own press secretary wants him to avoid taking journalist questions.

How Biden is defending his botched Afghanistan evacuation right now

If you are disgusted with President Joe Biden’s handling of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, you’re in the vast majority. According to a new poll that came out yesterday, a mere quarter of the U.S. population actually supports his approach to the situation in the country, now under Taliban rule.

And in a presser he gave yesterday morning, Biden continued to defend the way he went about removing American troops: “My job is to make judgments, to make judgments no one else can or will make. I made them; I’m convinced I’m absolutely correct in not deciding to send more young women and men to war for a war that is not warranted.”

Over the last week or so, Biden said the U.S. has managed to evacuate upward of 25,000 people from the country.

He mentioned that he may push back his deadline to achieve a complete withdrawal, but a spokesman for the Taliban apparently said the date was “a red line.”

And Biden didn’t mention how his administration plans to help Americans reach the airport in the first place. Apparently, the airport is also vulnerable to an attack by Islamic State, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said.

Biden’s latest “press conference” is another big fail… this is why

As I previously reported, President Joe Biden briefly broke out of vacation mode Friday to address the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan.

And, as you might expect, his “speech” was nothing more than blame-shifting and avoiding journalist questions.

“But the point was that although we were in contact with the Taliban, and Doha, for this whole period of time, at some point it wasn’t expected to be a total demise of the Afghan National Force, which is 300 persons,” he said.

He continued: “Let’s assume the Afghan National Force had continued to fight and they were surrounding Kabul. It would be a very different story. A very different story, but the overwhelming consensus was that they were not going to collapse…”

Biden turned his back to the reporters, who were still asking questions.

One of them wanted to know the big thing that’s been on everyone’s mind.

“Why do you continue to trust the Taliban, Mr. President?”

How did a gunman in a ski mask open fire into this Harry Potter store?

A muggle got into some trouble at Manhattan’s Harry Potter store early Friday morning, authorities say. Police are now looking for the suspect who fired shots into the store at some point between 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on Friday morning, sources say.

Apparently, the gunman caught the attention of the store’s security guard, who saw the ski-mask-wearing shooter standing by the front window.

“What’s up now?” the man apparently taunted before he shot into the glass.

He was said to have taken off in a black Mercedes Benz.

The store he targeted spans 20,000 square feet and three stories. What else do we know about this strange incident?

Why is this representative submitting articles of impeachment against the president?

We might be grumbling that it took long enough, but a lawmaker says she is ready to file her articles of impeachment against the current president.

“I believe in firing people when they’re corrupt, and they do a bad job,” she said earlier this week. “And Joe Biden is failing America and he needs to be impeached.”

Her announcement comes amid the worsening crisis in Afghanistan, and the continued chaos at the southern border — situations that were both engineered by ol’ Biden.

But apparently, Greene had been ready to impeach him from the start.

“President Joe Biden is unfit to hold the office of the presidency,” she’d said shortly after his inauguration. “His pattern of abuse of power as President (Barack) Obama’s vice president has demonstrated that he will do whatever it takes to bail out his son, Hunter, and line his family’s pockets with cash from corrupt foreign energy companies.”

Did the Taliban just kill a journalist’s relative in a door-to-door manhunt?

According to officials, the Taliban is in the midst of a manhunt in Kabul, searching for journalists or others with ties to Afghanistan’s previous government. Apparently, this led to the killing of a reporter’s family member. The militant group had previously promised not to engage in such behavior.

Officials with Deutsche Welle, a broadcaster in Germany, said that some of their other reporters have also had their homes raided since the takeover.

“We expect both individuals previously working with NATO and U.S. forces and their allies, alongside with their family members to be exposed to torture and executions,” said Chrisitan Nellemann, who is the RHIPTO Norwegian Center for Global Analyses chief.

This comes as reports surface that the State Department is demanding hefty, $2,000 payments for Americans to make the flight back home.

Let’s talk inflation…

If you’ve been reading this newsletter for any significant amount of time, you know that red-hot inflation has been a key focal point for investors, and for central bankers.

When the latest consumer price index was released earlier this month it indicated the highest growth in more than a decade. And the producer price index also set a new record increase.

But what does all of that mean, exactly? Financial expert Tim Melvin breaks it all down in a new interview, and it is definitely worth the watch.

Frank Reeves woke with a start last weekend as his wife said that someone was breaking into the house.

Reeves grabbed a weapon and ended up in a shootout with the suspect, a man he later learned had been romantically involved with his spouse, Tracy. Not only that, but Tracy had been doing drugs with this man, Michael Amacker, and she’d been allowing him to stay in the couple’s Alabama home.

“I’ve still yet to figure out how somebody can be staying in your house and you not know it,” officials said. “It’s somewhat bizarre.”

Apparently, Tracy Reeves and Amacker had been on meth as the situation unfolded, and officials are investigating whether a murder-for-hire scheme may have been at play.

“Another thing with meth,” the official said. “people that are on meth, not only do they have paranoia, they can’t keep their mouth shut. So if there was some kind of diabolical plan, it is very possible Amacker has told some other people.”

What will Biden say when he breaks his silence on the Afghanistan evacuation?

In about an hour, Biden is finally going to break his silence on the evacuation efforts currently underway in Afghanistan.

So far, the so-called leader of our country has remained relatively quiet regarding the Taliban’s swift return to power in Afghanistan. He hasn’t said much about how, exactly, the US will evacuate the thousands of Americans who are now trapped in the country. Biden spoke to the matter very briefly on Monday, and he did take questions from ABC News in an interview later in the week, but the details have been sparse.

So, if he isn’t addressing the current crisis, what has he been doing? It appears he’s been in vacation mode, prioritizing his time in Wilmington and Camp David, instead of leading the country he is being paid to protect.

In total, Biden will have spent less than 72 hours in the White House this week, as the situation in Afghanistan worsens.

After his scheduled remarks, he’ll return home to Delaware.

Is he even going to take questions, today? What should you expect?

Earlier this week, two naked Seattle men apparently got into an altercation that left one of them in the hospital and the other one unresponsive, police say.

According to witnesses, one of the men stabbed the other while they were on the sidewalk.

When authorities responded to the scene, the victim had been transported to a nearby hospital by a bystander.

The alleged suspect was found slumped near an apartment building with a neck wound that officials believe was self-inflicted.

He had lost a great deal of blood by the time authorities arrived.
